Our Story
Tadpole was born on my son’s first fishing trip. As an avid outdoorsman, I couldn’t wait to get my boy on the water. We had a perfect summer day for fishing. Snacks were packed, gear all rigged and ready for a day on the creek at our family farm. We caught crawfish on the walk to the fishing hole. On the first cast, he hooked up with a 2lb smallmouth! It jumped, tugged on the Mickey Mouse rod, and… the pole broke… he was in tears. That night, I started down the rabbit hole of making custom rods to fit him. I was shocked to learn there are so few options for kids fishing poles. We built prototypes in the garage, had one-off custom prototypes made, and landed on a final design with help from the best rod makers in the world. The end result? An heirloom quality kids fishing pole tailor made for those first fishing experiences.
